Terms of Service
Last Updated: August 10, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to BOT Domains ("Service," "we," "our," or "us"), a decentralized domain name registry and NFT marketplace built on BOT Chain. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, smart contracts, and all related features.
By connecting your wallet or interacting with our smart contracts, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under applicable law. By using BOT Domains, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
The Service is not available in jurisdictions where blockchain services or cryptocurrency transactions are prohibited by law. You are solely responsible for compliance with your local laws.
3. Domain NFT Minting
Each .bot domain is an ERC-721 non-fungible token (NFT) minted on BOT Chain. When you mint a domain:
- You pay a one-time mint fee of 0.0005 BOT plus network gas costs, paid directly to the smart contract.
- The domain name is permanently locked to your NFT after minting — it cannot be changed.
- Each domain name is globally unique on BOT Chain; once minted, no other wallet can register the same name.
- A single wallet may own an unlimited number of .bot domain NFTs.
- Minting is irreversible. Once confirmed on-chain, the transaction cannot be undone.
- Your domain NFT is compatible with any ERC-721-compliant wallet, marketplace, or application.
4. Domain Ownership
Ownership of a .bot domain NFT is determined entirely by the BOT Chain smart contract. As an owner:
- You have the right to set and update your domain's profile metadata (bio, links, images) at any time.
- You may transfer your domain NFT directly to another wallet address at any time.
- You may list your domain for sale on the BOT Marketplace or accept offers from other users.
- There are no annual renewal fees. Ownership is permanent until you transfer or sell the NFT.
- If you lose access to your wallet, we cannot recover your domain NFT. You are solely responsible for wallet security.
5. Profile Metadata & IPFS
You may optionally set a profile for your domain, including a bio, profile picture, cover image, social links, and custom links. This data is stored via two mechanisms:
- On-chain storage: Profile fields are written directly to the smart contract and are publicly visible on the blockchain.
- IPFS storage: Rich metadata (name, image, attributes) is uploaded to IPFS and referenced via a token URI stored on-chain. This makes your NFT visible on OpenSea and other platforms.
- By submitting profile content, you warrant that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, is not defamatory, and does not violate any applicable laws.
- We reserve the right to refuse to upload content that violates these Terms, but we have no ability to remove on-chain data once confirmed.
6. Marketplace
The BOT Marketplace is a non-custodial, on-chain peer-to-peer trading platform for .bot domain NFTs. By using the marketplace, you agree:
- A 2% platform fee is deducted from the seller's proceeds on every completed sale.
- Listings, offers, acceptances, and rejections are all on-chain transactions. Each action requires a wallet signature and gas fees.
- Offer amounts are held in escrow by the marketplace smart contract until accepted, rejected, or withdrawn.
- Domain owners may not submit offers on their own domains.
- Once a sale is completed, the transfer is final and irreversible. We cannot reverse or refund completed trades.
- We are not a party to any trade. We do not hold custody of funds or NFTs at any time.
7. Wallet Responsibility
Interacting with BOT Domains requires a self-custodied cryptocurrency wallet. You are solely responsible for:
- The security and confidentiality of your wallet's private keys and seed phrase.
- All transactions initiated from your wallet address.
- Any losses arising from unauthorised access to your wallet.
- Understanding and accepting the gas fees associated with any on-chain transaction.
- Ensuring you are connected to BOT Chain when performing domain operations.
8. Primary Domain & Reverse Resolver
The Primary Domain feature lets you designate one .bot domain as your primary on-chain identity via the BotResolver smart contract. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree:
- Setting a Primary Domain writes a public, on-chain mapping from your wallet address to your chosen token ID. This record is visible to any caller of the Resolver contract or the Reverse Resolution API.
- The Resolver verifies ownership on every read. If you transfer the domain after setting it as primary, the reverse resolution returns empty — your old Primary Domain is not displayed to third parties.
- You may clear your Primary Domain at any time. The clearing transaction is irreversible — historical on-chain records of the prior setting will remain permanently on the blockchain.
- Only one Primary Domain may be active per wallet at any time. Setting a new Primary Domain automatically replaces the previous one.
9. Agent APIs & OpenAPI
BOT Domains provides a production REST API and publishes an OpenAPI 3.1 specification for programmatic and AI-agent access. By using these endpoints, you agree:
- Read-only endpoints (resolution, profile, owner lookup) are publicly accessible and return data already present on the blockchain.
- Transaction generation endpoints (
/agent/tx/*) return unsigned transaction payloads only. They do not submit any transaction. You are solely responsible for reviewing and signing any generated payload with your wallet before broadcasting it. - AI agents operating via our OpenAPI specification do so on your behalf. You are responsible for any on-chain actions that result from transactions you sign following agent-generated payloads.
- You agree not to abuse, scrape excessively, or attempt to exploit our API infrastructure. We reserve the right to rate- limit or block access that degrades service for other users.
- The OpenAPI specification and AI plugin manifest are provided for integration purposes. We make no guarantee that the API will remain available or that its structure will not change. Breaking changes will be communicated where possible.
10. On-Chain Chat Feature
BOT Domains provides an On-Chain Chat feature that allows visitors to send encrypted messages to .bot domain owners via the DomainChat smart contract. By using On-Chain Chat, you agree to the following:
- User responsibility: You are solely responsible for all messages you send. You must not use On-Chain Chat to send spam, harass, threaten, defame, or transmit illegal content of any kind. Each message is a signed, on-chain transaction linked to your wallet address.
- No self-messaging: You may not send messages to a domain you own. The platform enforces this restriction at the application level.
- Permanent records: All chat messages — including edits and deletions — are recorded as on-chain events. Deleting a message flags it as deleted in the UI but does not remove the underlying blockchain record. You acknowledge that on-chain data is immutable and permanent.
- End-to-end encryption: Message content is encrypted client-side before submission. We do not have access to the plaintext content of your messages. You are responsible for the security of your wallet and the encryption keys derived from it.
- Privacy of content: Do not include private keys, passwords, seed phrases, or sensitive personal data in chat messages. Encrypted ciphertext is stored permanently on a public blockchain and the key can be derived by anyone who holds both wallet private keys involved in the conversation.
- Block feature: Domain owners may block any sender address. Blocking is an on-chain action and its status is publicly visible via the smart contract.
- No message guarantee: We do not guarantee delivery, availability, or decryptability of messages in the event of key loss or contract inaccessibility.
- Gas fees apply: Every chat action (send, edit, delete, block, mark as read) is an on-chain transaction requiring gas fees paid by you.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the On-Chain Chat feature at any time. Because message data is stored on-chain, previously sent messages will remain on the blockchain even if the feature is discontinued.
11. Builder Profiles, Points & Badges
The Builder platform allows eligible users to register a builder profile associated with a wallet. A public profile may display skills, experience, completed jobs, points, XP, levels, badges, and other information the user chooses to publish. You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and ownership of content you add to your profile.
- Points, XP, levels, badges, and job history are platform or blockchain-based reputation signals and are not guarantees of skill, employment, payment, or future opportunities.
- Reputation records may be public, persistent, and associated with your wallet even if you later stop using the Service.
- You may not impersonate another person, manipulate reputation, submit misleading credentials, or use profile content to infringe rights or facilitate unlawful conduct.
12. Jobs Marketplace & Escrow Lifecycle
The Jobs marketplace connects employers and builders. A typical job may proceed through posting, applications, acceptance or rejection, escrow funding, work start, delivery, payment release, withdrawal, cancellation or refund, and closure. The precise available actions and status transitions are determined by the applicable smart contracts and interface.
- Employers are responsible for accurate job descriptions, requirements, budgets, communications, review decisions, and funding obligations.
- Builders are responsible for truthful applications, lawful work, meeting agreed requirements, timely delivery, and reviewing transaction details before signing.
- Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Acceptance or rejection may require an on-chain transaction and may be irreversible once confirmed.
- Escrow funding, release, cancellation, refunds, and withdrawals are controlled by the relevant smart contract rules. We do not guarantee recovery of funds if a transaction fails, a user loses wallet access, or contract conditions are not met.
- Payment release and withdrawal may be separate actions. A completed job or delivered work does not by itself create a payment obligation outside the terms and contract state agreed by the parties.
- Users must not use the Jobs marketplace for illegal, fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, or infringing activity, and should not place sensitive information in public transaction fields.
13. On-Chain Transactions, Reputation & Beta Features
Jobs, applications, escrow actions, delivery status, payments, withdrawals, cancellations, job closure, reputation changes, points, badges, and related records may involve smart-contract calls and public blockchain events. Blockchain transactions require wallet signatures and network fees, can fail or be delayed, and generally cannot be reversed after confirmation.
Some Jobs and Builder features may be experimental, beta, or under active development. Features, contract addresses, interfaces, scoring rules, and availability may change or be discontinued. You use beta features at your own risk and should independently verify contract addresses, recipients, amounts, permissions, and transaction data before signing.
14. Intellectual Property
Registering a .bot domain name does not grant you trademark rights, legal exclusivity, or any rights beyond blockchain-level ownership of the NFT. In particular:
- A .bot domain does not convey rights to use a name in commerce, as a trademark, or in any off-chain context.
- We reserve the right to refuse minting of domain names that are clearly abusive, infringing, or designed to impersonate — subject to the constraints of the smart contract.
- You retain ownership of any original content you add to your profile. By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it in the context of the platform.
- Our platform name, branding, and website content are our intellectual property and may not be used without written permission.
15. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use BOT Domains to:
- Register domain names for the purpose of cybersquatting, phishing, or deceiving other users.
- Publish illegal, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise harmful content in your domain profile.
- Attempt to exploit, manipulate, or abuse the smart contracts or platform infrastructure.
- Engage in market manipulation, wash trading, or fraudulent activity on the marketplace.
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations, including those governing financial instruments or digital assets.
16. Platform Fees
- Mint fee: 0.0005 BOT per domain, paid to the smart contract treasury at the time of minting.
- Marketplace fee: 2% of the sale price, deducted automatically from the seller's proceeds on each completed trade.
- Gas fees: All on-chain operations (minting, profile updates, transfers, marketplace actions) require network gas fees, which are paid by you and are not controlled by us.
- Fees are subject to change. Updates to the mint fee or marketplace fee are governed by the smart contract's admin functions and will be communicated in advance where possible.
17. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees regarding:
- The continuous availability or uptime of the website or smart contracts.
- The accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any information provided.
- The value, liquidity, or market performance of any domain NFT.
- The security of the underlying blockchain or any third-party wallet software.
- That domain names registered on BOT Chain will have value, recognition, or utility outside this platform.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of funds, loss of data, loss of domain NFTs, or loss of profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the mint fees you have paid to the smart contract in the 30 days preceding the claim.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last Updated" date will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated where possible. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
20. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation where possible, and otherwise through the competent courts of the relevant jurisdiction.
21. Encrypted Forms
BOT Domains provides an Encrypted Forms feature available to domain holders inside Workspace. By creating or submitting a form, you agree to the following:
- User responsibility: Form owners are solely responsible for the forms they create and the data they collect. You must not use Encrypted Forms to collect data unlawfully, to deceive respondents about the purpose of the form, or to facilitate any illegal or abusive activity.
- Prohibited content: Illegal forms, forms designed to facilitate fraud or harassment, forms that impersonate third parties, and forms used to collect sensitive personal data without lawful basis are strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to disable access to forms that violate these Terms.
- Owner responsibility for collected data: As the form owner, you act as the data controller for any personal information collected through your forms. You are responsible for ensuring that your data collection complies with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction (including GDPR, CCPA, or equivalent regulations), and for providing appropriate privacy disclosures to your respondents.
- Wallet verification: Wallet verification (one wallet = one submission) exists to prevent abuse and duplicate submissions. Attempting to circumvent this mechanism — including through the use of multiple wallets to bypass submission limits — is a violation of these Terms.
- Platform right to disable abusive forms: We reserve the right to disable or remove access to any form that, in our sole determination, violates these Terms, applicable law, or causes harm to users of the platform. This does not affect encrypted response data already stored on IPFS, which is outside our control to remove.
The Encrypted Forms feature is provided as part of the Workspace product. We make no guarantee of availability, uptime, or continued support for this feature and reserve the right to modify or discontinue it at any time.
22. NFT Collections and ERC20 Tokens
Bot Domains provides a NFT Collection Factory and an ERC20 Token Factory within the Workspace. These tools allow verified .bot domain holders to deploy ERC-721 NFT collections and standard ERC20 tokens directly on BOT Chain.
You are solely and fully responsible for any NFT collection or ERC20 token you create and deploy using these tools. This includes, but is not limited to: the name, symbol, description, artwork, metadata, total supply, distribution, marketing, and any representations you make to holders or purchasers of those assets.
Bot Domains does not review, endorse, or verify any collection or token created through the factory tools. We do not guarantee the legality of any token or collection in your jurisdiction, and we make no representations about the value or utility of any asset deployed through the platform.
You must not use the NFT Collection Factory or ERC20 Token Factory to create assets that are fraudulent, misleading, infringe on third-party intellectual property, or violate applicable laws. Misuse of these features may result in suspension of your Workspace access. Bot Domains bears no liability for losses or damages arising from assets you deploy.
